Curt Tilmes
Curt Tilmes is a Computer Scientist at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.
He has been working at Goddard for 14 years, focusing on large scale data processing. He played a key role in the development of the operational data processing systems for MODIS (Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) and OMI (Ozone Monitoring Instrument). Previously, he worked as a contractor bringing the Internet to the U.S. Department of Education. He also worked for the Computing Center of Virginia Tech following his receipt of Bachelor's degrees in Computer Engineering and Computer Science. He later received Master's degrees in Computer Science and System Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.
He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County where his research interests include provenance management throughout the data processing of earth science climate research data.
