Luis Carvalho

Luis Carvalho is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics and Statistics at Boston University. He's been interested in PostgreSQL since his graduate student days working in a Biology lab with bioinformatics databases.

Luis has a PhD in Applied Math from Brown University, and his main interests cover Bayesian inference and computational statistics. He also enjoys practicing Judo and contributing to open source projects in his free time and is, in particular, very fond of a scripting programming language called Lua.
