D. Richard Hipp is the original author of SQLite and now heads a small team of developers who work full time maintaining and enhancing SQLite.

Richard is also the original author and team leader for the Fossil, an SQL-backed distributed version control system. Richard and his wife Ginger live in Charlotte, NC.
