The PostgreSQL Conference
Dan Langille
Dan Langille is a software developer by training and a sysadmin by necessity. He started with open source in 1998 and PostgreSQL in 2000 when he created FreshPorts.
He started in with PostgreSQL because of his background with Sybase, DB2, and Oracle. He wanted regular features such as relational integrity, foreign keys, and stored procedures. That's why he moved from MySQL to PostgreSQL.
Dan founded PGCon after his success with BSDCan.
He lives just outside Philadelphia, where he works as a sysadmin for well-known company, which is well known for their threat intelligence.
