Opening Session
Welcome back to PGCon and the Path to the Future
After a greeting by Dan, Bruce will consider possible future directions for the PostgreSQL software and the project.
Bruce will highlight ways in which the future direction of PostgreSQL will be different from the challenges of the past. Future changes include moving beyond feature parity with other databases, and focusing on performance improvements for single-session workloads. Finally, we can now see a day when PostgreSQL will be a database leader, which will bring new challenges.
