Accommodations

Some but not all hotels will honour the group rate for a day or two before and/or after the conference - check with the hotel directly for clarification.  If you're arriving the week before, check the BSDCan accommodations page for details about hotel rates for the preceding week.

On-Campus

There is only one on-campus option for accommodation:

UOttawa Residence

Group #: 592
Rate: $99/night for 2-bedroom suite (regardless of single or double occupancy)

Double-occupancy does not incur any extra charges, so if you can find someone to share the room and cost, it works out to only $49.99/person/night. Limited parking is available for an additional fee: check with the Residence when booking. Breakfast vouchers are not available, but Father & Sons (see Campus page) accepts pre-orders by phone.

Rooms are only reserved for PGCon until April 30th, 2015.

Bookings after April 30th will still honour the group rate if there are any rooms available. UOttawa Residence is almost always sold out, so book early to ensure you get a room!

UOttawa Residence Online reservation system

This year, for the first time, the University of Ottawa has an online reservation system for on-campus accommodations. However, since it is the first year for this system, it has had some bugs. Please be patient. It is possible to make a reservation using it, but it may take a couple of attempts.

Some details that may not be obvious:

• Our group number, 592, is the "promotion" code.
• The apartment residences, where most people stay is "90U"
• You have to choose your number of rooms twice, and then pick "add room"
• You will need to make a deposit for one night's stay

Quality Hotel Downtown Ottawa

The Quality Hotel is closing as of December 1st, 2014, and is reportedly being converted to a student residence. The group rate is no longer valid, since the hotel will not be operating in June 2015!

Other Nearby Hotels

Also nearby are the Extended Stay Canada - Ottawa on Cooper St., and the Marriott Courtyard Ottawa on Dalhousie St., but no group rates have been negotiated with either of these so far.
